Why This Training Is Required

Whether you call it a pistol permit class or the NYS 16-Hour Concealed Carry License Class, this course is now mandatory under New York’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act (CCIA).

As of September 1, 2022, all applicants in Erie, Niagara, NYC, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties must complete this training before applying for a license to carry.

To save your seat in one of the classes above, just follow these two simple steps:

  • After payment, forward your receipt email to: info@ftwny.com

  • In your email, include:

    • The date and location of the class you want to attend

    • The correct spelling of your full name (for your certificate)

    • Your NY county of residence

Once we receive your email, we’ll confirm your spot in class.

Q: Can I split the class into multiple days?
A: Yes — we offer both one-day (16 hours straight) and two-day weekend/weekday formats.

Q: What is the refund policy?
A: Cancel 48+ hours prior for a refund. If you can’t attend, you may reschedule for another class date.

Q: Does this training help with other states?
A: Yes — Arizona & Florida non-resident permits are included at no extra cost.

⏱️ Attendance Requirement

  • You must attend the full 16 hours to receive your certificate and qualify for your NYS Concealed Carry License.

  • If needed, you can split your training (for example: 8 hours in one session, and the other 8 hours in another class session).

  • 💵 Refunds & Rescheduling

    • Payments are non-refundable unless you cancel 48+ hours before class.

    • If you cancel within that time, a $25 fee will be deducted from your refund.

    • You can also switch to another available date if needed.

Our comprehensive class not only provides the required training certificate for applying to NY State for a concealed carry license but also includes the necessary training certificates for Florida and Arizona. We go the extra mile by providing all the licensing paperwork you need, including printed photos, completed fingerprint cards, pre-labeled envelopes, and, most importantly, your certificates of completion. (Please note that fingerprinting for NY State will be done individually through your county after the class.) We take pride in being the sole known company offering multi-state licensing, included at no extra charge, with our 16-hour NY state required training.
